Menshen Šimanovci: central material conveying system with Piovan technology and Neofyton implementation

At the Menshen plant in Šimanovci, Neofyton delivered a complete project covering design, supply, installation and commissioning of a central material conveying system by Piovan.

The result is a stable material supply to each consumer, clear flow selection and infrastructure ready for future production expansions — supported by the Neofyton team throughout the system’s full lifecycle.

From the shopfloor: when material “has to arrive” with zero compromise

In real production conditions, the most expensive moments are unplanned stops — and they often start where you can’t see them: material supply, recipe changes, manual switching and insufficient inventory control. That’s why the goal at Menshen was clear: ensure reliable granulate conveying, easy material selection, accurate dosing and the option for modern system management.

The Neofyton team defined the concept, completed the engineering and implemented the central system in cooperation with Piovan – Feeding & Conveying, so the solution matches today’s production needs while keeping room for tomorrow’s expansion.

Flexible silos: two filling options + level monitoring

Granulate is stored in flexible silos that allow two filling options: directly from a tanker truck or via a depalletizer. This approach provides procurement and logistics flexibility while maintaining cleanliness and order in the plant.

Reliable vacuum: duty + standby pump

To ensure stable material conveying, the required vacuum is provided through a configuration with a duty and standby vacuum pump. This increases system availability and reduces the risk of production interruption in unexpected situations.

Material selection: manual distribution (Handlink manifold)

Material flow selection is performed via a manual distribution manifold (Handlink manifold), enabling simple routing and fast switching of supply to consumers according to the production plan.

Conveying to consumers: vacuum receivers at the machine

For efficient material feed to each consumer, the system is integrated with vacuum receivers at the machines, ensuring stable granulate flow and clean material handling in the production area.

Infrastructure that supports the system: distribution and piping

A properly engineered piping route and distribution ensure reliable material transport, a clear installation layout and easy maintenance. As part of the Menshen project, distribution and piping were implemented as key elements of the central granulate conveying system.

Accurate dosing and blending: Piovan Quantum

When using virgin material, regrind and masterbatch at the same time, accurate dosing is essential for consistent quality. The system includes gravimetric dosing based on solutions from the Piovan portfolio.

Digital control: system management and process monitoring
