Thermogel temperature control units are designed for a wide range of industrial applications — from injection molding, blow molding and extrusion of plastics, to die casting, chemical and pharmaceutical processes. Precise temperature control leads to shorter cycles, reduced scrap, consistent high-quality output and better repeatability, while keeping operator involvement minimal.

What Is a Standard Temperature Control Unit (Standard TCU)?

Thermogel Standard TCU systems are designed for precise temperature control in water-cooled processes connected to external cooling systems (such as the ECODRY adiabatic cooler). Depending on the required temperature range, units operate with water up to 90 °C, pressurized water up to 120 °C or pressurized water up to 140 °C.

Main Components of a Thermogel TCU

Each Thermogel unit contains all components needed for stable and precise temperature control:

  • Process pump sized according to application requirements
  • Electric heaters matching maximum thermal load
  • Heat exchanger for indirect cooling (TRP and TBX models)
  • Proportional valve for regulating cooling water
  • Microprocessor control panel for fully automatic operation

Operating Modes – Heating & Cooling

Thermogel TCU units operate in both heating and cooling modes, fully automatically:

  • Heating Mode: Electric heaters raise and maintain the process water temperature as required by the mold or process.
  • Cooling Mode: Heat is removed to the external cooling system — either directly or via a heat exchanger, with precise regulation of cooling water flow.

This ensures stable temperature control during machine startup and throughout continuous production.
