Dear Sirs,
We would like to inform you that Neofyton will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2024, in observance of Armistice Day in World War I. Our office will reopen on Tuesday, November 12, at 8 AM.
Armistice Day symbolizes the end of World War I, which concluded on November 11, 1918, when the Allied forces signed an armistice with Germany in a railway carriage in Compiègne. This moment marks the end of one of the most devastating conflicts in history and the beginning of significant political changes in Europe.
During the war, which lasted from 1914 to 1918, over 16 million people lost their lives, and millions were injured. This conflict led to the collapse of four major monarchies: Austro-Hungary, Germany, Russia, and the Ottoman Empire, laying the groundwork for the shaping of modern Europe.
In Serbia, the war had particularly severe consequences, as the country lost about 1.2 million people, which represented nearly one-third of the pre-war population. These losses have left a profound mark on the nation’s collective consciousness.
This day is an opportunity to pay tribute to all those who lost their lives in this conflict and to remind ourselves of the importance of peace and reconciliation.
