Partnership to success
That this is a very important event for ENGEL is also confirmed by the fact that Dr. Christoph Steger, CSO Engel and a whole team of experts from Austria were directly involved in the entire process of procuring the largest machine in the world. By defining all the necessary parameters, the agreement has been finalized and the production of this imposing machine has begun. Having in mind the complexity of the machine’s construction and its weight of 365 tons, the delivery and starting the machine is expected in the first half of next year. The complete production system will be transported by 25 to 30 trucks, and the expert service teams of Neofyton and Engel will perform the installation and putting into operation, which can take up to several weeks, given the size and complexity of the system.
The DUO 5500t model is Engel’s solution for the most demanding users. It is made for highly efficient production of large parts, such as containers, automotive parts and machine components. The weight of the tools that are placed on the machine is up to 130t, and the plates themselves are 3500 x 3500 mm, while the total power of the machine is 645 kW (864hp). The Duo 5500t stands out with its high closing forces, outstanding precision as well as the shortest dry cycle time (9.8 sec, for a stroke of 1750 mm). In addition to high safety and high performance, the Duo 5500t retains high efficiency and low power consumption with an extremely compact design.
