We are very pleased to release information that Predrag Mirić, a student of the study program Production Engineering at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, under the mentorship of Associate Professor Dr. Marko Vilotić, is the first student to explain the test results done on an injection molding machine, which was provided by the Novi Sad company Neofyton in cooperation with its partners Engel (Austria) and Piovan (Italy) within the Training Center of the Laboratory for Polymers.

The thesis entitled “Influence of injection molding process parameters on mechanical properties of polypropylene” experimentally investigates the influence of basic injection molding process parameters on mechanical properties of homo polypropylene. The tubes have been made by injection molding in the Polymer Laboratory on the Engel Victory 200/50 Fast track machine, and tensile testing has been performed on the Erichsen machine in the Laboratory for Plastic Deformation Technologies.

The main injection molding parameters that have been changing during this testing are: temperature (the nozzle temperature 190 ° C, 195 ° C and 200 ° C) and injection pressure (400 bar and 440 bar).
The test results have shown that the temperature and injection pressure otografija have a significant impact on the maximum elongation and strength of the material, and that by optimizing their values, the quality of manufactured items can be programmed.
We congratulate Predrag on his successfully defended thesis and wish him a lot of success in his further training and work.
The Laboratory for Polymers opened at FTS
At the Faculty of Technical Sciences on Friday, June 22, 2018, the Laboratory for Polymers, which was established within the Department of Production Engineering and as a result of a joint project of FTS and Neofyton with its partners Engel (Austria) and Piovan (Italy), was ceremoniously opened.
At the opening ceremony, the Provincial Secretary for Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Zoran Milošević, dean of the Faculty of Technical Sciences Prof. Dr. Rade Doroslovački, Director of Neofyton Mr. Zoran Tadić, Deputy Trade Counselor at the Austrian Embassy, Marlen Burgstaler, Prof. Dr. Branka Pilić from the Faculty of Technology and vice dean for teaching FTS Prof. Dr. Dragisa Vilotić.
The newly built Laboratory for Polymes will enable the practical application of knowledge and training of students of Production Engineering in the field of polymer processing, as well as students of the Faculty of Technology. The laboratory is equipped with an automated production line for plastic injection molding and is an excellent basis for scientific research in the field of polymer. It will also have the role of a training center, which will enable more active transfer of knowledge to experts in the economy through special seminars and trainings. All this makes the Laboratory for Polymers unique in the territory of the Republic of Serbia and the region.
